We spent the first weekend of Dec. camping at Snoopy Island, just north of Dubai. It is a beautiful beach outside of Fujairah. There are several resorts there but we enjoyed camping on the soft, deep sand. We enjoyed looking for shells, sea kayaking, snorkeling and eating treats around the fire with good friends.
Snoopy Island is the little island to the left. It is supposed to look like Snoopy lying down on his dog house. It looks more like the whale if you ask me! :)
Mountains!
There were quite a few jelly fish swimming around with us. Most of them were super tiny but a few were as big as a softball. The water was super clear and we even got to see a sea turtle!
Ashtonn, the catcher of the hermit crabs!
Ashtonn driving his race care that dad built for him.
The kids on top of a hill over looking the beach.
Dallin photo bombing Lilly and Colette!
Hmmm, Let's see . . . where did Dallin forget to put sunscreen?
We literally found hundreds of hermit crabs when the tied was low. Along with a sea urchin, and two crabs!
Me, showing of my beach hair do and funky tan line. :)
Colette spent so much time in the water that she turned into a mermaid. We had to dry her out so she could get her legs back.
The locals take camping as an issue of territory. The put up big tents and then fence off the surrounding area in case anyone is confused about their camping spot!
Fresh fruit vendors on the side of the road.
The landscape is so beautiful and varied. We saw huge mountain ranges, fresh lakes, harbors, trees, vast deserts and rolling sand dunes all in the 3 hour drive.
Watch out for camels!!
