Leaves are falling everywhere . . .

The kids made a huge pile of leaves in the back yard! We invited friends and had a party!

The fun didn't stop as the kids figure out if they moved the pile to the swings they could eject themselves from the seat and land in the soft leaves!

Grandma Fackrell came to visit for a week and shared in the fun!
Watching the kids fling their bodies out of the swing was a little scary. It's one of those mom moments where you know their okay but it still makes your insides squirm.

Capital Tour, DC

A family friend who works at the capital offered to give us a tour of the capital building! The kids and I had a great experience seeing the beautiful capital building in our own little tour

The newly finished visitors center is huge! There are statures from all the states. I loved this one of Sacagawea was one of my favorites. How can they make bronze look like flowing leather tassels?

This is a replica of "Lady Liberty" that stands atop the capital building.

This star represents the exact center of DC. It was made as a tomb for Washington, but was never used for him or anyone else.

The famous dome. As cool as it looks!

We were able to take in the views from the porch. We felt pretty special since that is not part of the "public" tour!

God bless America!!!

Not a bad way to spend the day!

Fall soccer for Bennet and Ashton

Ashtonn played really well and had a lot of fun. His team was one of the younger ones in the league so they ended up playing older teams.

Bennet was the team leader this year. He scored most of the goals for the team and could play in any position the coach put him in. The skills he learned at the Manchester schools in AD helped out a lot! Bennet was invited to be in the All-star tournament as well.!

Halloween

23 lbs of candy this year! We have a tradition of dumping it on the kids and letting them roll around in it, as if it were money! (Notice that Gregg is also in the pile of candy in the picture below!) Let's face it, I would be too, if I wasn't taking the pictures . . . ( :

Colette and I put this cool costume together. Colette won the costume contest at school! She got two free movie tickets! Not bad for sure.

Bennet was a skeleton zombie and Ashtonn was a zombie version of Batman.

This was our first Halloween that we didn't all trick or treat together! Dallin was with his buddies, Colette was with the girls and Bennet and Ashtonn  came with us. Everyone had fun though and we all shared in the loot.

Family Home Evening at the shooting range.

We hadn't had chance to get any target practice in since we came back from Abu Dhabi, so we decided it was time to dust off the old guns and have some fun practicing our 2nd amendment rights.

I had so much fun that Gregg bought me my very own.
It is a .39 caliber and has a laser on it. That way I can shine it in someones eyes so they know whats coming next!

Watch out boys, that's a bullseye she's pointing at!

Dallin had fun shooting something besides an air soft rifle.

This was Bennets first time at the range and he did awesome!

Just call me Annie Oakley!
