Amman, Jordon and Jerusalem trip. Part 1

Welcome to the ancient ruins of the Citadel in Amman, Jordon. The ruins lay on top of the many rolling hills.

I was so surprised to learn that the first and original "Philadelphia" was not in the States!

Bennet looking down on the Stadium

This area was full of ornate decorations.

The kids were not so excited about this "house" when they learned it really was a "tomb." ( :

We found some folks from Denver to take this photo of us.

I took this one, pretty cool huh!

This is what "core" strength looks like. I tried it, notice there is no picture of me doing this!

The second largest flag.

The streets were filled with children roaming around by themselves!

We found this kid, so we kept him.

Example of the Mosaic work dating back several thousand years

Bennet is showing off the large bathtub the bloodied warriors would use after fighting a lion or fellow slave.

Hungry anyone?

This is the front gate of Jerash, just north of Amman. This was a fabulous city complete with a hippodrome for chariot races!

The city had a huge town square, paved roads, elaborate water systems and three theaters.

Apparently the folks back then were a little smaller than us  . .

Grazing sheep and goats is okay pretty much anywhere!

Gregg describing the amazing earthquake proof abilities of the columns. If you put your finger in the lower crack you can feel the pressure of the moving stones stacked up on each other.

Yes, we did take the "road to Jericho."

We had a fun cable ride up the Mount of Temptation.  There is monastery carved right into the side. Jesus is said to have lived in the near by caves and to have been tempted by Satan here.

We lucked out with the weather! This is a lovely few of the Dead Sea.

The monastery.

A lady covered in mud took this picture for us!
