Grocery carts are magnetized to the moving walkways. It is quite brilliant! The grocery stores here are all multi level so you need a good way to get up and down with heavy carts.
I you need any type of spice, this is the place to find it. Mind you they still have the spice isle, this is just the bulk section! I'm still looking for the bulk section of flour, candy and dried apples . . .
Same goes for nuts! The deli section is also amazing with all types of cheeses and "meat" of different varieties.
Not your usual food court goodness. This is one of my favorites, Chicken tikki Marsala. Yum!
We found a huge candy store in Dubai. It felt like we walked into Wonka's factory. The only down side is that "Sour patch kids" do not exist here! We will never give up looking! We did get some jr. mints and Jelly bellies though!
We've had some great sunsets here. The picture does not do it justice. You can look right at the sun and it is just a beautiful orange-ish red globe.
The number on your license place is a big deal around here. The number "1" plate sold for 14.5 million US dollars! They are considered vanity plates and can be bought and sold! My license plate is 80 thousand something. We keep a lookout for low numbers. So, a number "10" was pretty cool!
Poor Ashtonn cut a big gash on his leg from a broken glass in the garbage. He was being a good boy and taking out the garbage when the glass broke through the bag and sliced his leg! ): He was very brave. We took him to Dad's hospital and the Dr. glued his skin back together and applied steri strips and a big bandaid. No stitches! He was very happy that no needles were involved!
Okay, so I don't know what the deal is with marshmallows here, but they don't melt. It's true, they blow up twice their size and blob up next to each other! It makes making rice krispies kinda difficult. The rice krispies we get are from Russia and the directions on the box don't even include marshmallows! Weird!
Bennet can sleep any where, in any position. He is seen here with one pillow, a pair of shorts and his forearm for comfort! I'm still trying to figure out why his legs are in the air. . .
So at first I was skeptical. Yogurt in chips? Yogurt belongs mixed with granola and strawberries . . . I was desperate for a salty snack so I gave it a try. They taste like the "sour cream and chive" version in the US. A happy surprise. Yogurt is surprisingly big thing over here. You can buy plain yogurt in big buckets. It is used in cooking (I'm told) to help cut down on the spice. Hmmm, not sold on that for me, but it works for the chips.
The Chinese circus was in town so we got to check it out. It was very entertaining. We had a great time.
This is my new running route. A bit different from what I'm used to. I can't complain because at least I can run outside now that the humidity and weather is down a bit. (around 85 in the AM)
This was a "get to know you" project at school. Ashtonn drew a very nice picture of his family and even included the pets. Super cute. I especially like the spiky hair of Dad, Dallin and Ashtonn!
Our kitchen table is the center of many a project. This particular one is Bennet's monster called, "The Terrorizer". It was very cool.
Ashtonn was the "Star of the Week" for school and had the honor of taking home the class "pet". Her name is Holly and she spent a fun weekend hanging out with Ashtonn.
This was Ashtonn's "robot". He did his before Bennet's and did it just for fun. He was excited because he built something that was as tall as him!
Max loves empty hampers. He goes bazooka crazy when you roll it around. (:
Mojo, all ready for school. He doesn't look happy . . .
Max discovered the small space above the fridge. Mojo was jealous. LOL
We couldn't find many halloween things in the stores so I bought some art and crafts and the kids had a blast making some cool, ghosts, bats, spiders and a centerpiece of eyeballs.
Colette, when I wake her in the morning . . . .
Ashtonn had a nice time with "Holly" she even helped him practice the guitar. :)
