Sheik Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan AKA "Rainbow Sheik"

This member of the royal family has a bit of a thing for cars. We went to check out his collection.  Needless to say, every color of the car world was represented!

Model T

Needs no introduction . . .

This is a truck parked under a truck.
The opposite of a "Hot Wheel."
New York Cab and CA. highway patrol car

Horse-less carriage.

All the exact same car, just in different colors!
I think this is a little over board . . . 8 wheels? Is it pulling the space shuttle to the launch pad?
 View from the platform.
Take note of the back left tire . . . I wonder how Ashtonn would feel if the car was driving down the road!?

Qasr Al Sarab

This was one awesome place! It is about 1.5 hours outside of Abu Dhabi and is plopped down in the middle of the desert! The resort is like an ancient arab palace. Every view is amazing and the amenities, top notch. We were all able to tag along on Gregg's work retreat and then spend one extra day.
We made good use of the pool, climbed sand dunes, ate traditional food, went dune bashing, enjoyed camel trekking and star gazing. It was simply beautiful!

Now, this is a way to work!

Desert blooms. So Beautiful in contrast to all the beige!

I'm gonna learn how to play this, piano/guitar thingy. . .
We got to see a cool falcon demonstration.  We all got to take turns holding the falcon.

 Desert sunsets. AMAZING!

 Ashtonn, no fear!

These Land Cruisers own the dunes! They all had roll bars inside for extra safety. It was so fun, we felt like we were in a car commercial!

Getting off and on a camel is not as easy as you think! Hold on tight!

This camel seemed extra interested in Gregg . . .

Elder Holland dedicates our brand new chapel!

Elder and Sister Holland came to dedicate our new chapel! Everyone was so excited. We got to church 2 hours early and saved good seats.  Elder Holland stayed to visit with everyone who wanted to meet him.  It was so great that the kids have memories of meeting an apostle and shaking his hand!   He is such a wonderful speaker and it was so awesome to learn about all the miracles that took place so that our chapel could be built. The land was given to the church for free and we our so grateful to live in the  Middle East where our faith is respected!
